Paper Wallet
Use offline wallet records only with a deliberate physical-security and recovery plan.
A paper wallet is an offline record workflow, not a guarantee of safety. Its risks are physical: loss, copying, water or fire damage, untrusted printers, cameras, and transcription mistakes can all prevent recovery or expose funds.
Before making an offline record
- Obtain the paper-wallet tool from the official repository and inspect its documentation.
- Use a device and environment you trust; do not enter sensitive recovery material into a public computer or an unknown website.
- Store the resulting record privately, offline, and in a form you can retrieve after a device failure.
- Make a second protected copy only if you have a plan to secure both copies independently.
- Test your recovery process with a small amount before relying on the workflow.
Do not photograph, email, or upload the record. Treat anyone asking for it as untrusted, including someone claiming to provide support.
